Frequently Asked Questions
Does it hurt?!
No! Acupuncture should not be painful. You might feel a slight pinch on some of the more sensitive areas of the body. It is common to feel a heavy pressure, warmth or itching sensation where the needles are -this is a normal response. Pain is not.
How many treatments do I need?
The amount of treatments depends on the condition. More acute conditions could take around 1-4 visits. Chronic conditions may require 6-8 weekly visits until treatments can be more spread apart due to improvement. For example: chronic back pain -6 weekly visits -> feeling better for longer, two visits monthly -> even better, once a month or as needed. Acupuncture is cumulative! That means the results are more likely to be stronger and effective the more consistently you get treated.
Do you take insurance?
I currently do no accept insurance. I will provide a superbill upon request.
